This is what femtis stands for.
You should feel safe and comfortable during every phase of your cycle. That’s why we develop high-quality period underwear and focus on responsible production. With us, you always get clear words instead of empty promises.
Why switching to period underwear is worth it.
Did you know that a menstruating person uses around 14,000* tampons or pads over their lifetime? That creates a lot of waste — and puts a strain on your skin, your wallet, and your nerves.

Period underwear is different. And for many: better.
- Reusable instead of disposable
- No slipping, no strings, no worries
- Soft, safe, breathable – day & night
And you don’t have to constantly think about the next change.
Info.
For your safety and comfort, we recommend changing your panty after a maximum of 8 hours – or sooner if it feels full. The exact wearing time depends on your flow strength and the absorbency level you choose.
What’s inside your femtis?
Our Period Panty ROMY doesn’t just look good – it’s got a lot going on. Literally. ROMY is made of four smart layers that work together to keep you feeling secure, dry, and comfortable.
Period Panty – ROMY.
The four-layer system of ROMY (heavy) absorbs the equivalent of up to 2.5 tampons – offering reliable leak protection even during heavy periods.
ROMY is washable at 40 °C, durable, and ready for many cycles with you.
You don’t need biocides.
Our panties work entirely without antibacterial additives. femtis deliberately avoids biocides such as silver chloride – because we believe: only what’s necessary belongs near your intimate area.
Who actually makes your femtis?
Our panties come from a production facility we’ve worked with closely and trustfully since 2018. The factory is located in China and is managed by Rose, who is deeply committed to empowering women in her company. Currently, 75 women and 38 men work there – a team that truly knows what matters.
What matters to us:
Responsibility? We take it seriously.
That’s why we don’t just rely on good intentions, but on clear rules: Our Code of Conduct defines what we – and our partners – live and expect: socially, ecologically, transparently.
But one thing is also clear: paper alone doesn’t change anything. We believe in genuine dialogue and long-term collaboration with everyone involved in our products. What does that mean? We meet in person as often as possible – and stay in touch across borders in between.
Let’s get started.
Transparency is important to us – even if that means admitting that we’re only at the beginning.
Our To-Dos:
- Measure and communicate CO2 emissions
- Purchase our cotton styles with OCS certification
- Use recycled materials
- Disclose our supply chain in full detail
- Rely more on sea freight, less on air freight
OCS certification for our products.
We want to have our period underwear OCS-certified in the future. Why not GOTS? Our production facility is GOTS-certified – a standard for high environmental and social practices. However, our period underwear currently cannot be certified according to GOTS, because – in addition to the permitted PU protective layer – it contains other functional materials that don’t meet GOTS requirements. That’s simply a challenge for period underwear, as it needs to meet different criteria than regular clothing. With OCS (Organic Content Standard), however, we can guarantee that we use only organic cotton in the intimate area.
Transport.
In the past, 100% of our products were shipped by air freight. Today, we’re rethinking our logistics – aiming to gradually switch to sea freight. By 2026, at least 50% of our deliveries will be by ship, and in the long term, we aim to reduce air freight to below 2%.
Summary.
Yes – (still) no CO₂ balance, (still) no seals.
But we’re working on it. And we’ll take you along on the journey.
Giving Back – small projects with big impact.
We know we can’t save the world. But we can do something – and we’ve started. femtis regularly donates to projects that promote education, equality, and period justice.
Example: Around 500 returned panties were donated to Period e.V. – reaching those who truly need them.
And that’s just the beginning.

“Sustainable” sounds nice – but is often said too easily. At femtis, we prefer to be honest: Our period underwear is washable, reusable – and therefore a conscious alternative to disposable products such as tampons or pads. Our panties are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified – meaning every single component has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for your health.
We work with certified partners, use organic cotton in the innermost layer where it matters most, and continuously test new, more responsible materials.
Clearly: we still have room to grow. But we’re taking it one step at a time – and taking you with us.

Depending on the model, we use different main materials – such as cotton, modal, or polyamide. All panties consist of multiple layers, each with its own specific function.
You can find more details about the materials on each product page.

Yes – and by conviction, not by coincidence. Our panties contain no animal-derived materials – no wool, no silk, no leather components. We also avoid animal-based additives during processing.
femtis is completely animal-free – because we believe: animals don’t belong in your underwear. 🐰

No. Our panties are free from biocides such as silver chloride.
Such substances are sometimes used in textiles to inhibit bacteria or odors – but they’re suspected of harming skin and the environment. We deliberately avoid them: femtis works through a clever layer system – without antibacterial additives or unnecessary chemicals.
