That’s what femtis stands for.
You should feel safe and comfortable in every phase of your cycle. That's why we develop high-quality period underwear and set social standards for our production partners.
We always give you the facts, not empty promises.

Where we currently stand and what we are still working on. An open look at our supply chain, climate, materials, and the people we work with.
Why switching to period underwear may be worthwhile.
Did you know that a person who menstruates uses around 14,000* tampons or pads over the course of their life? These are single-use products that are disposed of immediately after one use.
With period underwear, you can reduce your need for disposable products and avoid having to keep buying them.

Period underwear is different. And for many, more comfortable.
• Reusable instead of disposable
• No slipping, no strings, no worries
• Soft, safe, breathable – day & night
And you don’t have to keep thinking about the next
change.
Info.
For your safety and well-being, we recommend changing the panty after 8 hours at the latest - or sooner if it feels full. The exact wearing time depends on the heaviness of your period - and on which Absorbency you choose.
What’s inside your femtis?
Our Period Panty ROMY doesn't just look good - it has what it takes, too. Quite literally. That's because ROMY consists of four clever layers that work together to provide a secure, dry and comfortable feel.
Location 1 (intimate area)
95% organic cotton*, 5% elastane – soft against the skin, breathable.
Layer 2
88% polyester, 12% polyamide – reliably absorbs and wicks away moisture
Layer 3
100% polyester with a TPU membrane – keeps water out while letting air through
Main material
93% cotton**, 7% elastane – stretchy, comfortable, and adapts to your body. **We are currently reviewing the complete switch to organic* cotton for our cotton styles
*organic: grown organically, without chemical-synthetic pesticides and fertilizers
Period Panty - ROMY.
ROMY's four-layer system (heavy) absorbs as much fluid as up to 2.5 tampons—and gives you reliable leak protection, even during heavy periods.
ROMY is washable at 40 °C, durable, and ready for many cycles with you.
You don't need biocides.
Our panties work without any antibacterial additives. femtis deliberately avoids biocides such as silver chloride - because we believe that only what is necessary belongs in the intimate area.
Tested & verifiable
Some of our models were tested by Hohenstein according to the FEMTECHMAS-6513-1:2023 standard. This independently assesses how absorbent the gusset area is and whether the measured absorbency matches the values we specify.
The testing standard itself does not define any fixed minimum or target values. You can find more information here:
Who actually sews your femtis?
Our panties come from a production facility we have worked closely with and trusted since 2018. The factory is located in China and is run by Rose. Currently, 136 women and 56 men work there (as of 2026) - a team that knows exactly what matters.
What matters to us:
Regularly audited.
Our production facility is audited once a year by independent auditors as part of amfori BSCI. Last audit: 04/2026.
Reliable partnership.
We have worked closely with the factory for many years and maintain regular communication.
Tested according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
Our products are manufactured at a production facility whose relevant product groups are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. Every component of our OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified products has been tested in a laboratory and meets strict limits for over 1,000 harmful substances. Certificate Nos.: 26.HCN.11739, 26.HCN.33052, 26.HCN.95488, 26.HCN.38828, Institute: Hohenstein. The certificate’s validity can be checked using Label Check at oeko-tex.com.
femtis is a member of Fair Wear.
Since 2025, femtis has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works worldwide to promote safe and decent working conditions in the textile industry. For us, this means continuously examining working conditions in our supply chain—not just when an audit is around the corner.
Getting better together:
We work closely with our factories to identify risks such as long working hours, low wages, or a lack of workplace safety early on - and improve things step by step.
Long-term partnerships:
We focus on stable relationships, visit our production sites regularly, and develop specific improvement plans together
Open reporting:
Once a year, we report openly on what’s going well - and what isn’t. You can view our first Brand Performance Check publicly. It shows where we stand and what we still need to work on.
Facing problems instead of looking away:
When problems arise, we don’t look away. Fair Wear helps us identify risks and develop measures together with our production partners.
Why Fair Wear?
Fair Wear brings brands, factories, and other stakeholders together to drive structural change in a system that is often very complex. Together, we are committed to improving working conditions in the textile industry.
The Fair Wear Foundation is a multi-stakeholder initiative that supports clothing companies in meeting their human rights due diligence responsibilities across their supply chains. Membership helps identify, mitigate, and address human rights risks and negative impacts, promote workers’ access to remedy, and track and communicate progress. Membership is not a product or factory certification and does not guarantee a risk-free or harm-free supply chain.
And this is especially important: No item of clothing is “100% fair.” But we can—and want to—get a little better every day. That’s exactly why we’re part of Fair Wear. As a manufacturing company, we always leave a mark. And when people work together, not everything goes perfectly. What matters to us is facing the facts, taking responsibility, and finding solutions together—instead of pretending there are no challenges.
Let’s get started.
Transparency is important to us - even if that means admitting that we are only just getting started.
What we’re working on:
- We are working on measuring the CO₂ emissions of femtis.
- We are assessing where organic* cotton in the main material can replace conventional cotton.
- We are assessing where recycled materials can be used in our products without compromising functionality and comfort.
- We are gradually switching our transportation from air freight to sea freight.
*organic: grown organically, without chemical-synthetic pesticides and fertilizers
Giving Back – our donation project.
We know: We can’t save the world. But we can do something - and we’re simply getting started.
femtis regularly donates to projects that promote education, equality, and period justice.
Example: Around 500 returned panties went to Period e.V. and will therefore end up where they’re truly needed.
And this is only the beginning.

In short: We do not categorically describe our panties as “sustainable.”
Like every product, they also have an environmental impact.
At the same time, femtis panties are designed for repeated use and intended as an alternative to disposable menstrual products. Let us explain: Over the course of their lifetime, a menstruating person uses around 14,000 tampons and pads (source: www.healthline.com).
